SuperBowl XL

When the gun went off at the end of the Nfc Championship game, admit it you were thinking "Well this is gonna be an intresting SuperBowl" with more than a hint of sarcasm. At the begining of the season who would have thought that the Superbowl sans Atlatnta or Philly or New England or Inianapolis? Despite the lack of starpower and firepower I think this has the ability to be one of the best games in recent memory. Polamolu is as fun to watch as any saftey since Lott and Shuan Alexander did get to the endzone more than any one in the history of the NFL. So here goes my predictions for the 40th Superbowl.

Seatle Defense- For Seattle to win they must continue to contain Willie Parker who has been a joke in the playoffs. They should have no trouble with that. Parker is mr. outside and he will be run down by the NFL fastest Linebackers if he runs the little toss plays. It would be catyclismic if Steel city reerects its running game.
The most impertant thing though for seattle is 2nd year QB Ben Roethilisberger. The steelers running game has been about as bad is it can get getting only about 3.0 ypc in the playoffs. keep Heath miller out of the middle with man coverage and make Ben make good throws. I can't count the number of times over the last three steeler games when Big Ben hit a wide open Hinds Ward or Cedric Wilson. I am not sure I've seen him make a throw that beat good coverage. Don't get to blitz happy becuase they do have good athletic recievers who can run and beat you down the field. When you do blitz run two guys at Ward becuase he is Ben's safety blanket.

Pittsburg Defense- Alexander, Alexander, Alexander. Though Baldy might be one of the best QB's in the game he is more of a manager than a playmaker and Seatle has no explosiveness at Wideout (wich can give Pitt fits). Don't let Alaxander get 5 ypc on first down. Get atleast a few stops in the backfield. Make Hassleback throw on 2nd and 3rd and longs. Don't blitz as much as you have the last two weeks. You won't get through this line at will like you have lately. Only blitz on third downs or on "wadaya got ta Loose" spots like 2nd and Inches. Let Polamalu be but if he gets beat you have to make him cover. Hasslback is too smart to let Troy make as many plays as that idiot Jake Plummer.

Seatle Offense- MVP. Run it. Early, often, inside, outside, over, under, above, below, around. Get a body on Casey Hampton, he is a special nose tackle. Run it left. The leagues best tackle is there and Joey Porter is a disgrace to good defense when it comes to stoping the run. Play Smart. Try to atleast one big play and don't turn the ball over.

Pitt Ofense- Get some big plays, but don't be dumb for the Steelers tjhis game is about defense.

MVP- Matt Hassleback

Final Score- Seatle 28 to 27

That's rigfht Seatle wins.

OH! Jaremy Stevens will catch a tuchdown.
