Shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duke. What kind of dumbass picks Duke to win the National Championship. Evidently I am exactly that kind of dumbass. Now I'm left with a busted bracket. My final four consist of Gonzaga(Shut up I hear you laughing), Duke, North Carolina, and Illinios. Gonzaga Gon-blew it and Duke ducked out i'm am left with just two of four. I had Luoisville losing to Gonzaga in the Eleight 8. With my pick down and out, I must regroup. I like UNC final call. Does anyone else have a hunch that all of a sudden the Badgers are going to be a really good team against the Tar Heels.

P.S. North Carolina will Play and beat the Illinois in the Final.

March Madness

It is spectacular time of the year. All the eyes in the sports world fixate on the 18 to 22 year old hoops stars in the NCAA tournement. It has provided us with some of the best moments in sports history and some of the biggest upsets you can imagine. The one time of year when Cinderella has the spotlight. In no other sport does the underdog have more of a chance at glory. This year it is a little diffrent, though. Just two double-digit seeds have made it to the sweet sixteen and one is a 20 win team from the ACC. The other wil almost certainly meet its demise a UW-Milwakue will face the top seeded, one loss Fighting Illinois. The 10 seed NC State Wolfpack will likely be favored over the 8th seeded Wisconson Badgers. The one can't miss game this round is the match up between the #2 Seeded Oklahoma State Cowboys and the #3 Seeded Arizona Wildcats. It is a mathcup of conflicting styles. As Eddie Sutton brings in his philosophie of defense and team work above all. Both coaches members of the 700 win club and future hall of famers.

I like the talent of the Wildcats over the hard-nose defense of the 'boys. Why? I think that 'zona will out run the defnse of OSU and their ability to shoot the 3-ball will nuetralize any attemps at a zone. Saleem Statlemauire will need a big game, but his ability is up there with Redick and Mcnamara.

For the Cowboys to win I think they will need to chang pace and run off the mised jumpers, t they are a defense first team with a slow tempo.

They may not make the Elite-8 this year, but the future is bright with Jameson Curry and Eddie Sutton at the helm.

Horay for lockout!!!!!!!!!!!

This Hockey Season has long since been canceled to dismay of hockey fans and to the delightment of the other 99.99% of the World. Frankely, I love the ida of no hockey, why I got plenty. For one, I hate when at five O'Clock I'm looking for something to watch on ESPN and Hockey is on both. Plus i don't have to change the channel on sportcenter when they show the hockey highlights. Another fine thing about the lockout is the hockey held hostage thing on the sports wake up show "Cold Pizza." Now it is not to say that if hockey resumes next year I will be dissapointed because their are some things about it that are entertaining(besides the end) Like th fights. Plus my favorite hockey team, though it is not saying much) are athe Sharks who are at worst competive every year. Some would say I am just being pecimistic about the situation some would say that I am Just ignorant on Hockey, but for now Good Ridance.

From bad to better

In a trade season that had more to do with aquiring cap space than talent, the Golden State Warriors, a long time cellar dwellar, cleaned up. The Warriors not only were able to aquire a impact player, to say the least, and clear cap space. The Warriors have not been a miserable team for lack of funds, but for lack of front office know how. The ownership has always been willing to spend money, but was unable to use this money in a responsible matter. But this year, this year, is diffrent. They brought back former Warrior player Chris Mullen to head a new look front office. In the off-season they added Center Dale Davis, Gaurd Derick Fisher, and 17 Year-old, rookie Power Foward Andris Biendrins. This trade deadline, they were able to add Baron Davis, but it is not what they added, but what they got rid of. Dale Davis rarely played, but was the highest paid player on the team with a cap number of over 9 million. The benifits for the hornets is Davis will be off the books next year, so thy will gaet major cap room.
But Baron Davis adds more than cap room for the Warriors, he gives them a legetimate scoring Point Guard. Before him they had a small Point Guard in Fisher who was an exellent Distributer, but did not have the size to get inside and throw it back out to take advantage of the talented shooters on the Warriors offense rely on in their half-court game. In adittion, he makes a even more athletic line-up wich boast more above the rim talent then any other 5-player line-up in Basketball with Davis, Richardson, Piertus, and the low post guys. Another thing that boads well for the Warriors is that Rookie Foward Andris Bietrins, is playing well and his lenght adds possesions to the offense, which is essential in their shoot first offense.
Perhaps the most important factor in the Warriors game is their ability to fast break. With Richardsons ability to just jump over people and pull for three gives them a real full-court threat at off-gaurd. Davis running the break, who has no problem getting to the rim himself, is good news for the Warriors. The thing that Davis Really adds is his ability to ad-lib. In his first few games as a Warrior he has penetrated deep into the lane, jump in the air, and through it to either a open post player or a open three point shooter. It is an enevitable to have some bad seasons, but Golden State has been so bad for so long that you just asume they will be a cellar-dwellar, but for the first tome in a long time the Warriors are not just fun to watch, but are a team to watch, this year and hopefuly far into the future.

Whats Silver and Black and Bad all over?

The Raiders. A team with a history of bringing in the banished bad-asses of the NFL. Lately the Silver and Black have lived up to their big bad reputation over the last couple of years bringing in Warren Sapp, Randy Moss and entertaining thoughts of two flakie Backs Maurice Clarett and Ricky Williams, but when is enough enough. At what point do you decide that your team has enough big tuff bad boys. With a high-octane verticle offense and no Running Back in a system that requires a Power Running game. Though the Raiders will have no first round pick they still may be able to get a top-ten caliber back. In fact they may not even have to use their second, third, or maybe even fourth round pick on. The Raiders could add to the depth on the defensive side and still get a big time back. Clarett, who abandoned Ohio State after his freshman year, could be a good fit for the Bay-Side bad boys, who lack a big time back. The thing that hurts clarett is the 4.8+ in the 40, but the Raiders need a power back to fit the system. Even if his speed was not great he is way more talented than any guy who will be taken near him in the draft. Plus it would not be a risky pick, despite the bagage, he brings becuase he will likely go in the fifth, sixth, or seventh round and most 5,6,7 guys are out of the league in a few years. Imagine if they were able to add a good back to that offense and still be able to do what they want with the Second round pick. Even thogh Clarett is a troubled young man it mis still worth the risk. After all he would fit right in.
